Frequently asked questions
What is Vocue?
Vocue is a Chrome extension that brings focused sales execution into Close.io: a smart calling queue, grounded call preparation, calling support, voicemail tools, and human-reviewed follow-up drafts in one workflow.
How does Vocue connect to Close.io?
After installing the extension, sign in with your Google account and connect your Close.io account from the Vocue panel. Vocue reads your saved views and contact context, and writes call activities and dispositions back to Close.
How does dialing work?
Vocue can dial multiple lines in parallel and automatically connects you when a person answers. Answering-machine detection, do-not-call and cooldown rules are enforced before any call is placed.
What are vocal cues?
During a live call, Vocue can surface real-time vocal cues — short, on-screen prompts drawn from the conversation — so the rep always knows the best next move. Cues are visible only to the rep.
What data does Vocue access?
Vocue handles your account identity, Close.io contact and page context, calling state, and call-card context. Data is used only to provide the Vocue workflow, is scoped to your session, and is never sold or used for advertising. See our Privacy Policy.
Is anything sent automatically?
No. Email and SMS outreach created by Vocue are drafts in Close.io. Nothing is sent until you send it yourself.
Before you write to us
Many setup and calling problems clear with a few quick checks, and trying them first means support can spend its time on the issue that actually remains:
- Confirm the Vocue extension is installed from the Chrome Web Store and pinned in your browser toolbar, then refresh the Close.io tab so the panel can load with fresh page context.
- If the panel asks you to sign in again, sign in with the same Google account you used when you first connected Vocue, and check that your Close.io session in the same browser profile is still active.
- If calls are not starting, look at the contact first: numbers on the do-not-call list, contacts inside a cooldown window, and records without a usable phone number are skipped on purpose, and the call card shows which rule applied.
- If a call connected but sounded wrong, note whether answering-machine detection was on and whether the call reached a person, a voicemail box, or a phone tree. That one detail decides where we look first.
- For VM Drop questions, check whether a voicemail was actually detected on the line. VM Drop only leaves a message when the call reaches a voicemail box, so a ring-out or a busy signal will not trigger it.
If none of that explains what you are seeing, write to us with the details listed above and tell us which of these checks you already tried. Reports that arrive with the organisation, the contact record, the time, and the visible error are usually resolved in one round trip.
More answers
Which CRM does Vocue work with?
Vocue is built for Close.io. The extension works inside your Close.io session: it reads your saved views and lead context, builds the calling queue from them, and writes call activities, dispositions, and follow-up drafts back to the same records, so your CRM stays the system of record.
How does parallel dialing decide who I talk to?
Vocue dials several lines at once and connects you to the first person who answers. The other lines are released immediately. Answering-machine detection, do-not-call screening, and cooldown rules run before dialing, which is why some contacts in a view are skipped rather than called.
What does the AI SDR do, exactly?
The AI SDR prepares follow-ups from what actually happened on your calls: it drafts the email or SMS in Close.io, in context, ready for a human to review. Drafts are never sent automatically. You can edit or discard every draft, and nothing leaves your account until you send it yourself.
Can Vocue record or transcribe my calls?
Call handling follows your Close.io setup and the calling and recording rules described in our Terms of Service. If you are unsure whether recording is permitted for a number you are about to dial, ask us before the call rather than after it, and we will point you to the relevant rule.
How do plans and billing questions work?
For plan changes, seat counts, invoices, or billing corrections, email support from the address on the account and include your organisation name. Account changes are only actioned for the organisation named on the account, which protects your workspace from mistaken or unauthorised changes.
Protect credentials
Do not email passwords, OAuth client secrets, API keys, access tokens, refresh tokens, or other credentials. We will provide a secure method if sensitive diagnostic material is required.
